Cr8tive Mindz was established in 2012 with the idea of introducing at risk youth to the practice of creative expression. Many at risk youth do not have the opportunity to express themselves productively; turning to negative alternatives such as drugs, gangs, and violence. Cr8tive Mindz wants to be proactive as well as reactive in helping youth bypass these negative self-harm behaviors; direct contact with the arts and professional artists provides positive stimulus and personal reinforcement which interrupts the slide into…negative lifestyles. Cr8tive Mindz mission is to provide at –risk youth with a chance to build on their natural artistic abilities by providing avenues to better prepare them for a productive future.
Cr8tive Mindz wants to provide a creative expression platform that gives at-risk youth the opportunity to rise above their circumstances. You need creativity to do anything in life. Our vision is to teach at risk youth to adopt a creative outlet to help them externalize issues they may face by giving them a platform to express themselves in a positive way. Cr8tive Mindz values the importance of self-esteem, courage and ambition. We want to continuously develop character, commitment, teamwork, discipline and integrity in our actions, practice and service to at risk youth in our communities.
